The name Bisnok is taken from two old Cebuano words: “Bisaya,” meaning native from the Visayas, and “Manok,” meaning chicken.

Through street dancing and field presentation, performers dance merrily, focusing on the preparation and cooking of the native chicken known as “Bisnok.”

The Bisnok Festival is held on the 4th of October in the town of Dumanjug, province of Cebu.
