DUMANJUG


Municipality of Dumanjug is a town in Cebu Province located 73 kilometers south of Cebu City, the capital of the province. Dumanjug was first established in 1855 during the Spanish occupation period. It is located between Municipality of Barili in the North and Municipality of Ronda in the Southern part. Municipalities of Sibonga and Argao border Dumanjug in the Eastern side while Tañon Strait borders on the Western side.

Legend
The municipality of Dumanjug was born more than a hundred years ago. It was in the year 1855 when the municipality was organized and had for its leader an equivalent to the latter town Captain, Pedro Ricamora. A man whose whose descendants wield some kind of political power in the municipality.

St.Francis
Dumanjug church is probably the most handsome of the 19th century churches in western Cebu. Made of finely cut coral, its hews closer to the neoclassical idiom for the sedate and chaste simplicity of its decorative elements. The bell tower to one side of the church has a dodecagonal plan, usual for colonial churches.

Bisnok
The name Bisnok is taken from two old Cebuano words, "Bisaya" meaning native from the Visayas and "Manok" meaning chicken. Through street dancing and field presentation, performers shall dance merrily bringing all the Bisnok-performance focused on : the preparation and the cooking of the native
